What a remarkable day! It´s the 216th day of the year (217th in leap years), and has been the host of some of the most extraordinary events in the history of mice! (also man)
In the year 70, the romans destroyed the Second Temple in Jerusalem on this very day. Then, In 1693 Dom Perignon invented Champagne. If he did so as a homage to the romans, no one know for sure. Suddenly in 1979, out of nowhere, Robin Peterson, the world famous South African cricketer was born. Coincidence? I think not!
However great these events might have been, they all look bleak and minuscule compared to what happened in Surnadal August 4th 2010. We had our first gig with the new line up, and it was beyond breathtaking! Different colored lights, PA system, a crowd, and.. wait for it.. A smoke machine!
The crowd was great, and even though we were more nervous than a virgin at a prison rodeo, we had a great time and played a decent show. The guitars where chugging like a frog in a blender, the vocals tighter than a camels arse in a sandstorm, the drums pounding like Tiger Woods at a college frat house, and the bass was also present.
Check out the pictures in the media section and on our facebook page. The pics from this concert are all taken by photographer Steinar Hasselø. Thanks man, we owe you some whisky.
So, to sum up this history lesson on August 4th, King Henry 1st of France died in 1060, and Gone Rogue had a great time on stage. Thanks to “MOT” who invited us, and thanks to National Taekwon-Do Norway who paid us.
